§ ¶No bluffing
Last night at the incredibly noisy Purim service, everyone was raising their hands. I raised mine, turned to my friend next to me and asked, "Why are we raising our hands?" She replied, "The rabbi said, 'Raise your hand if you can hear me.'" We laughed for a while over that one. A while later, people were raising their hands again, so I followed suit. When I asked her why we were raising our hands this time, she said it was for the same reason. That'll teach me! Of course the next time I keep my hand down is when the speaker says, "Raise your hand if you don't want to be a loser." It just goes to show that having a CI doesn't preclude the need to bluff. If I'm looking for Aaron in the house, and ask where he is, he has the annoying habit of saying, "In here." The last time he did it, I understood, "In here," and then his quick addition of, "The office." So I finally found him for once without having to walk around the house zillions of times!
A while ago, the kids were talking to my mother-in-law on the speaker phone. I had no idea what they were talking about, but then asked Samara, "Did Nana just say 'Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers?'" She had!
