§ ¶C'mon baby, light my fire
This past Sunday, I took Samara to see Stomp (an amazing show where performers make music out of everyday objects). I saw the show years ago with Aaron. Since that was well before my CI, I was curious to see whether I'd get more out of it this time around.One segment had the performers making noise with lighters. I had a vague recollection of seeing this piece before and asking Aaron what was going on - he had to explain to me that lighters make noise. I actually heard it this time! To confirm this was the case, we conducted a little test at home afterwards. First, Aaron lit a lighter while I had my CI on. I closed my eyes (so I wouldn't be biased by seeing the lighter go on) and raised my hand each time I heard it. Then I took my CI off and guess what - didn't hear a thing.
Of course, this doesn't mean I'll start letting you smoke when I'm around!
