This past Sunday, I took Samara to see Stomp (an amazing show where performers make music out of everyday objects). I saw the show years ago with Aaron. Since that was well before my CI, I was curious to see whether I'd get more out of it this time around.

One segment had the performers making noise with lighters. I had a vague recollection of seeing this piece before and asking Aaron what was going on - he had to explain to me that lighters make noise. I actually heard it this time! To confirm this was the case, we conducted a little test at home afterwards. First, Aaron lit a lighter while I had my CI on. I closed my eyes (so I wouldn't be biased by seeing the lighter go on) and raised my hand each time I heard it. Then I took my CI off and guess what - didn't hear a thing.

Of course, this doesn't mean I'll start letting you smoke when I'm around!

This is so cool! It seems like things are really coming together quickly now! Great to hear about your progress.
